winter break is over. 4 weeks of vaca without having to worry about finals is absolutely glorious. but i guess all good things must come to an end.

school resumes tomorrow. im taking english comp, sociology, philosophy, chem, and guitar. it should be a good semester.

colin is in the hospital this week for the last round of chemo. im going to visit him tomorrow when im done with class. 6 more weeks to go in the treatment process, and he's all done and in remission. im so happy and so proud of him. and i dont know what i would do without him.

my laptop is going to die.

i got ALT at oly for the summer.

my family is most likely going on a cruise sometime in mid-July. the one we're looking at goes to jamaica, the bahamas, the cayman islands, and mexico. oh oh exotic.

spring break is in 18 days. im not going anywhere but i will for sure enjoy the break from everything.

after that, summer is only a short time away. ohhh summer.

so... its been awhile.

its funny how if another person were to look in on your life, it wouldnt seem that complicated to them. but to you, your life just seems so busy and chaotic. at least it does in my case. even if i dont have that much going on.

so about college... i am officially going to purdue. yeahhh boilermakers. im really rather excited. kristin and candace and a number of others are going there also, so it will be nice to have some friendly faces there. it will be easy to come home too. though you should all come party with me : )

wow i am worn out. this weekend was alot of fun.

friday i went to see mae at wheaton college. they were sooo good. i love small atmosphere, laid back shows. and i love mae.

saturday we all gathered at kristins for her suprise party. she was indeed surprised, much to our relief because ethan almost ruined it. we ran around the neighborhood doing this scavenger hunt thing. it was really cold, but really fun. allison, jessica, leslie, and i slept over. good timesss.

today i came home at like 1. lounged around. got ready and then picked jthom up to go to the memorial service for jaymes. i seriously cant believe hes been gone a year already. there were so many people there. all his friends came back from college. darrel, dusold, ippy, oly, ray, etc. and then the guys swim team and alot of the girls. it was a really nice service. we all went to fuddruckers afterward for the fundraiser for the JRH scholarship fund, where alot of food was thrown at fellow bald heads. ohh i love my swimmer boys.

the olympics are over way too soon. i didnt get to watch as much as i wanted to. those people are awesome.

and i am super tired. goodnight.

first semester is over. im done with finals in high school. as long as i keep a C average, don't contract a disease that keeps me home for more than 5 days, and turn in all assignments, second semester finals are nonexistant. yeah seniors '06!

the stress level has decreased.
this weekend is going to be awesome, because theres nothing to worry about.
its the most carefree ive been in a long time.

i enjoy three day weekends.

i enjoy watching movies and listening to amazing live music and dancing with my incredible friends.

i enjoy the partnership for a drug free america commercial on tv that shows a girl sitting on her bed in her room, and her dad comes in and wraps up in a white blanket and lays on the floor, and the conversation goes something like this:
dad: what am i?
girl: i dont know, a burrito?
dad: no... i'm a joint!
girl: youre too big to be a joint...

i do not, however, enjoy studying a ton and finals.

i cant wait until they are over.

because that means its second semester.

which means graduation will be here in the blink of an eye.

which means summer and fun to the max.

the past two weeks have been amazing. this was the best break ever.

Dec 16 – king kong w/ sarizzle, emmy, claire, and mia. wow was it long.
Dec 17 – mikejahn’s for some guitar and hanging out with derek, covello, dan, and eliza
Dec 18 – woodfield with sarahg, paula, and gia. good girl time, got some cute stuff. later megan and amanda’s Christmas party at megan’s house. afterwards went to sarizzle’s with matt and tarak, played mariokart and monopoly and listened to the beach boys.
Dec 19 – lifeguard recert. Later Oly Christmas party/secret santa. Afterwards went to sean’s house with laura, sarahg, gia, childers, and molly. watched 40 yr old virgin in sean’s awesomely cool room
Dec 21 – last minute shopping. work with sean and laura. gia, lauren wong, maureen, and sarah met us at oly. We all went to barnes and noble starbucks for some hot chocolate, magazine reading, and chit chat
Dec 22 – oly ski trip! Sarahg and I rode up to alpine with sean. It took a really long time to get there for some reason, but we finally got there and hit the slopes. I really sucked and fell a lot at first cause it was my first time skiing… but everyone stuck by me and by the end I was a pro. sean was the only snowboarder that did not cut us off. The ski lift was our fav part. On our way home we went into the toll lane with the automatic change thing, and no matter how much money we put in it, the stupid arm would not go up and let us go. Sean got out of the car and started picking up change from the ground and chucking it in the thing, but no dice. Finally we just backed out and went into another lane. Later we blew through an ipass lane. Take that, stupid robbing state of Illinois. ::shakes fist::
Dec 23 – vfw show with mikejahn and covello. Mmm krispy kreme and Coventry
Dec 24 – Christmas eve. Church and dinner with the family
Dec 25 – Christmas! Santa was pretty good to me.
Dec 26 – portillo’s and garden state at mikejahn’s with mccarthy for a bit.
Dec 27 – work with sarah. Afterwards went to wendy’s with laura, sarah, and Kayla. After that went to riley and chilled at the park, talked about new years etc.
Dec 28 – work till 6. left and came back to meet sarah at oly at 7. went to panera for dinner. Came back at 8:30 to meet gia, laura, and maureen. Went to gia’s to watch the syphilis lifetime movie, shes too young. Had some good laughs. Went to mickey d’s and threw stuff at the minivan in front of us cause they were jerks.
Dec 29 – plans to hang out with someone made me really happy, but I was kinda let down when it didn’t. decided on oly bdubs night then. steve miles, joe, brian d, kari, brian o, gia, Lauren wong, sarah c, sean, molly, amy, megan lyons, maureen, mel, and kendra were also there (I think I got everyone).
Dec 31 – woodfield and water works with the family for mom’s bday. Then time to get ready for new years! Went over to paula’s dinner party around 8. sarahg and brad were already there. Other people came throughout the evening, mostly bg’ers. We talked and played guesstures and took pics and ate and had a grand old time. We had quite a crowd by the time 12 was approaching. We got all decked out in masks, and hats and noisemakers and drinks and all gathered around the tv to watch the ball drop. As we counted down from 10, I realized that there was not really anywhere else id want to be at that moment. Hugs and wishes for a happy new year were shared. I was sort of swept away in that moment. A new year, a chance to start with a clean slate, forget the bad from 2005, but keep the good with me. Its now 2006, the year of graduation. The next 5 months are going to go by so fast…
Jan 1 – slept till laaaate. Got up and showered, and hung around the house. later went bowling with mikejahn, covello, dan, eliza, sarah fader, derek, jill, nick, and tony. Afterwards went back to mikejahn’s and chilled in his room, listened to musica and dane cook.
Today – lounged around the house. went to shoe carnival and ulta for shoes and shampoo. Stopped by oly for this week’s schedule. And now im sitting here in awe of how fast these two weeks went by, thinking of all the good times, not wanting to go back to school and finals and homework and blahhhhh. But it will be ok.

i find it fascinating how my mind can subconciously memorize lyrics to thousands of songs and dispense them like that(snap), but academic stuff, no matter how much i review it, i cant retain for more than like a week.

when we come back to school after break (which starts in about 15 hours!), guaranteed i will be braindead.

in other news, christmas is in 10 days! and i am looking forward to an extremely amazing winter break.

i know i say this alot, but it feels like i cant say it enough. my friends are the most amazing people on the planet. they can get me to smile when i am having the worst day ever. and they never let me feel alone. i would be nothing without them. i cant wait for christmas break. amazing things are going to happen.

friday i saw chronicles of narnia with mikejahn, chad, and anna. i hated the book, but the movie was amazing. sang at the top of my lungs to brand new. devoured portillo's chocolate cake. if i were a pagan, i would worship that cake.

saturday was mikejahn's with sarah fader, dan, and grant. and covello a little later. mikejahn had major girl drama. i had my first guitar lesson, seeing as how i should prolly learn to play mine one of these days. i am now in the process of trying to stretch out my little hands so i can.

sentimental entry time.

im in outdoor adventure 2 gym this year. basically we focus on team building and earning each other's trust doing rock wall climbing and high ropes courses, a journey that is often tough but fun and beautiful, when we go to devil's lake at the end of the year. mr. patton is my teacher. he is my hero. we climbed the rock walls and stuff this past week.

today, however, was different. mr. patton decided to tell us the story of his brother's suicide, because today is the anniversary of it happening. it was the most moving story i have ever heard. i tried to hold back my tears, but i lost that battle early on. mr. patton told us the story not to make us feel bad for him, but to possibly prevent another suicide from happening. he felt so terrible that he missed the signs from his brother, and said he couldnt stand it if it happened again--if he prevented one person from contemplating/committing suicide, it was all worth it. and as i saw him breakdown in front of my eyes, i found a deeper respect for him. he is the most courageous person i have ever met, and i admire him tremendously for that. with all that he has gone through, he still finds a way to get up in the morning and come to class with a smile on his face. he always encourages us to push ourselves, to try something that scares us, and is always there to support us every step of the way.

for these reasons and so many more, he is my hero. i want him to know that, because im sure it would bring him a moment of happiness in these hard times. at least i hope it would.

1 week down. 2 to go. i hope i can do it.

the weekend was good.

on friday i went over to j thom's and we listened to pablo franciso and my lover, dane cook. hot sex and hilarious. i want him to have my children.

last night was v-show. some acts were better than others. jason aka michael jackson along with travis, paolo, and sid were the best i would have to say. afterwards i went to candace's with elle, max, sarupa, and andy. the roads were a mess, but im in the christmas mood so much i didnt mind. we watched clue. haha. typical 80's movie. awesome.

this year it seems im more excited for christmas than usual. we have lights up on the house. ive got my ipod loaded up with christmas music, and i play it in my car and around the house and school, and pretty much everywhere i go. speaking of, i must start working on my christmas list for santa. i've been good ; )

ive heard so many rumors about the teachers going on strike its recockulous. all i know is that they better get their asses going on signing a contract, because i am not spending a minute more than i have to in that school. i expect to be done on june 4, diploma in hand.

as quirky and weird as steve miles is sometimes, im really glad i know him. he made me smile when i was having a bad day saturday. many times he has actually. im very grateful for that.

to you: i am truly sorry, more than you could ever know. please give me another chance. it would mean the world to me.

wowza long time no update.

thanksgiving was good. went to indiana to see the aunt and uncle and cousins. 3 year old william is so much fun. played ultimate frisbee and bowling. ate alot alot alot. mmm tryptophan.

lets see, what else...

jimmy eat world was amazing. we were front row center at the metro. jim adkins was like 3 feet from us. sarah yelled "marry me!" and he laughed.

harry potter 4 was also amazing. although when i read the books, it seems like certain events, such as the tri-wizard tournament, are a bigger deal in the book than they are portrayed in the movie. thats what reality and a budget will do i guess. oh well. hes still my hero.

sports awards night and banquet for swimming. the final signs that its really over. a lot of memories were shared. i cant believe its been 4 years already. its been awesome and i love those girls like sisters.

i got accepted to purdue and isu. got the app for madison in, it'll be a bit before i know. still waiting for iowa state, michigan state, and valpo. i pretty much only care about madison now though. if i get in, my decision will be purdue vs. madison.

i really dont know if i can make it through 3 full weeks of school. i need christmas break so much sooner.

stuff is being planned, its going to be amazing.

oh good old knights.

last night was alot of fun. i missed knights so much. i dont know how to describe it, but its like there was an empty space that vfw, durty nellie's, or any other place could never fill. it seriously made me so happy just to walk through those doors again. just like old times. seeing all the old faces together. walking to walgreens for red bull. dancing. amazing music. going to steak and shake after. ah, c'est l'amour.

i got 5 of my college apps in. now im just waiting on teacher rec's for madison and notre dame so i can do those too. hopefully i should find out acceptance status soon.

i love the month of november. we dont have a single full week of school. this past week we had a late arrival. this week we have friday off. the following week we have monday off, woo 4 day weekend. the following week we have thurs and fri off for thanksgiving. the week after that we have a late arrival. pretty sweet arrangement.

i need to reapply for ahpd summer '06 soon. im thinkin either guard at rec or alt at oly. but idk we'll see.

oh man this new layout and stuff rocks. way to catch up with technology lj.

so we have had five fire drills in the course of two days at school. yesterday was during 1st and 7th. --tangent: when it went off 7th i was in chem, and was going to get my stuff when i tripped over someone else's stuff in the aisle. hit my knee on the ground. hurt but i didnt think much of it. walking down the stairs, feel something wet on my right knee. definitely blood soaking through my pants. sarah was freaking out. actually i was too kinda. sat outside in the parking lot watching blood puddle on my knee until the nicest asian ever, alex park, came and gave me a couple of napkins to soak it up. he saved my life. hobbled back into school, went to nurse for a bandaid. i survived, yay.-- today was 5th, and two during 7th. it went off at the beginning of 7th, then as we were going back in it went off again, so we turned around and went right back out. oh man gotta love it.

swimming is over. ::sighs:: after conference as i was walking out of barrington i did feel somewhat sad. it was basically the end of my swimming career as i know it. for 10 years ive been swimming, and now its just not there anymore, theres an emtpy space. but im not going to lie, i LOVE coming home after school and having extra time to just relax.

im finally starting the college application process now that i actually have some time. so far im applying to uw-madison, iowa state, purdue, isu, notre dame, michigan state, and valparaiso. i have to get em in by nov 15, so i will be busssy with that.

we have a late arrival thursday cause sophs have to take the plan test. haha suckers. we were supposed to get a half day friday cause boys soccer is going to state but i think its a full day and we can get excused? idk thats a load of crap.

our sports teams are actually good this year. football is in the second round of playoffs and undefeated. boys soccer is going to state. and we actually have school spirit too. who woulda thunk?

this weekend was good.

so its been a while.

and in that time, many things have happened. spirit day, fall out boy/motion city, apple fest, homecoming, senior night, sarah's 18th bday, visiting iowa state, swimming, work, etc. its been quite a whirlwind of activity. ill include alot of pictures soon.

i need to start my college applications. soon. im pretty sure where i want to apply, i just have to do it. hmm yes.

swimming is going wonderfully. we have started taper and it is amazing. i will be swimming in conference on my 18th birthday. yay? if you come, find me and give me a kiss.

i am looking forward to seeing coventry tomorrow night, my birthday in 9 days, conference (meaning swimming is over) in 9 days, jimmy eat world on november 11, and a handful of other things that i forget right now.

so im really excited about:

- fall out boy/motion city on friday. im in love with the music and the people im going with. i cant even imagine how much fun its going to be. in fact im really looking forward to this weekend in general. saturday a bunch of us not going to homecoming are doing something, perhaps apple fest in long grove. not sure yet, but it will be a truckload of fun. sunday is panera with sarah and laura. nothing special, but it will be amazing because they are.

- starting my volunteering hours for VIKES. im working at the animal shelter, and i get to walk the dogs and socialize (aka play with) the puppies, kittens, cats, and dogs. i know its going to be alot of fun because i love animals to death and it will help me for my hopeful future as a vet. i cant wait.

- my birthday, in t-minus 24 days and counting. the big 1-8. almost cant believe it. i dont know what im going to do for it. its the same day as swimming conference, which rather sucks, but hey its an awesome gift to be done with swimming. let me know if you have a good idea.

i couldnt be happier that friday is finally here.

this week was so long and i am exhausted. swimming and homework are really starting to catch up with me.

other than the two above things creating a lot of stress and chaos in my life, things couldnt be better. i love my friends and i love the crazy things we do and have planned. i also love the swimming girls, because i would surely lose my mind during the season if not for them.

and the reality is starting to hit me that i wont be with them next year. im going to have to leave the people ive shared my whole life with (or at least it seems like my whole life). some of them i wont see ever again. and that scares me to death.

on a lighter note, there were a few moments that totally brightened my day this week:

1) chris aleszczyk wearing a hollister shirt that read "i <3" with a picture of a beaver shaving. our survey class had an amusing discussion about it and now every shirt he wears is interpreted as a sexual innuendo.

2) it being really cold in the pool area at the meet yesterday, and colleen grady coming up and saying "could my boobs seriously be any harder right now? not gonna lie... everybodys thinking it im just sayin it!"

4) seeing laura howell AND sarah greenburg, my two winter oly loves that i seriously hadnt seen in forever. i looove them.

5) finding $45 dollars in the jewelery box on my dresser today that i had forgotten about. i had only $3 before that.

6) portillo's tonite with the swimming girls. awesome story sharing and gossip, and of course chocolate cake.

yep. im sick. bleh. its like a cold and a sinus infection at the same time. i have a cough and theres so much snot in my nose its grosssss.

i am beginning to feel a little better though.

i stayed home tuesday, went to school yesterday and felt like complete shit, and stayed home today. i also have not swum in a week. tomorrow should be interesting.

missing school work = bad

sleeping/lounging all day = good

thank goodness tomorrow is friday, although i doubt i will be allowed to do much this weekend seeing as how i will be recovering and all.

hopefully i will be able to stop by lyzanne's 18th bday bash saturday. cause i havent seen her in ages and i love her.

got my proofs for senior pics today. they make me feel pretty. and once again drive home the fact that im a senior. still cant believe it. the easy part is over, now i actually have to choose which ones i want. GAH.

i love this song. it puts me in such a mellow mood.

labor day is done. the offical end of summer is here.

"then labor day came and went,
and we shed what was left of our summer skin"

i did have alot of fun this weekend.

friday and sunday nights were spent at BG days. it really reminded me of frontier days. which reminded me of summer. and how much i miss it. but it was good seeing everyone.

saturday night i went to metro with amanda, travis, matt, and tarak cause they had an extra ticket. not a bad show. ahh i love those guys. im really excited to be going with them to fob/motion city, death cab, and jimmy.

today i played sand volleyball with amanda, matt, sarah, stephanie, jen, and john in the b-e-a-Utiful weather. it was super fun. especially since none of us were any good. i think we hit the sand more than we did the ball. i came home to my family party all sandy. we had a bbq and i ate a ton. it was a fairly relaxing day.

but now im exhausted and my throat hurts and i keep sneezing and having to blow my nose. i think im getting sick. bleh.

and i really dont want to go to morning practice.

- easy sets/workouts
- getting paid
- new death cab
- imogen heap - hide and seek
- being a senior
- not worrying about what i wear to school anymore, what people think of it, or a certain image to uphold. after 3 years, i know myself and the people i want to be with/around.
- new shoes
- food
- looking at pics from when i was little
- swimming
- the oc
- music--i find it fascinating that with so many bands and genres out there, each one has their own unique style and sound, and i discover more of that infinite world each day.
- my friends

i need to:
- get a car
- buy my parking pass
- buy new death cab
- pay matt for fall out boy/motion city ticket
- get ticket for death cab
- get ticket for jimmy eat world
- sleep
- let go
- hangout with aimee
- shower
- not spend so much time online
- start working to keep the money coming in
- hangout with SARAH and LAURA
- turn in my money for senior t-shirt
- paint my toenails

i do not like:
- homework
- morning practice
- meet the team meetings--we already met the team, you already went over the rules 2356 times, and theres no food involved
- drama
- allergies
- swimming

i am looking forward to:
- three day weekend
- bg days
- sleepover?
- my big 1-8 bday
- all the upcoming concerts. they will be amazing.
- working at oly with all my outdoor buds

so thats whats going on in my life right now. not terribly exciting, but im quite content with it. there are a couple things id like to see happen yet, but im in no rush.
